The wine museum in Périgord
Standing among the vines, in this nice place of Perigord, the cellar of Lardimalie was very busy in bygone days: the hammering noise of coopers, the sounds of the grape loaded carts rolling, the cries of the wine glowers... the press...
The wine was made in a great central vat room which has not change since construction. Every thing from that time remains: machines, tools, tuns vats, barrels...
The museum displays them, over 1500m2 in their natural place. It evokes men who worked there until the last vintage in 1967 and the surprising life of its landlord.
Native from Perigord, Mr. Sécrestat invented the successful aperitives – Bitter Secrestat and Toni kola – which were sold all over the world.
For families:
a playful visit adapted for children is suggested.
Disabled visitors can visit the museum in its totality.
